Mike's 2011 QB Rankings Posted

Ray and I decided to add a new wrinkle for the fourth year of NFL Rough Draft. Instead of creating our rankings at the end of the season (like usual), we are each going to post our top 10 players at each position and adjust the rankings throughout the year. Don't worry, we'll still compile the regular 1,000+ player positional rankings around the week of the Senior Bowl.

My 2011 QB Rankings are up now.

2011 NFL Draft Coverage is Here

I think it's safe to say that this is the earliest we've ever begun our NFL Draft coverage. Our first 2011 mock draft is now available.

15 Intriguing Undrafted Free Agents

Top 15 Undrafted Free Agents

1. Mike Johnson-LB-North Alabama (signed by Chiefs)

Mike Johnson should get picked up by a team and I would expect him to turn some heads in camp. Johnson is an instinctual player that is big and tough and really fits the 3-4. The one thing he has against him is he played at a small school and needs to be coached up a little bit. Should be a special teams demon. Look for him to at least make a practice squad.

Which Teams Got Better This Weekend?

Giving out grades for the draft the day after the draft is anything but an exact science. You can’t truly evaluate a draft until at least 3 years after the draft but we can always surmise. So let’s evaluate who helped themselves out this weekend not only by draft selections but by acquiring current NFL players.

 5 Teams That Helped Themselves:

1.

Fall of the Quarterback

Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy are still available at the start of the second round. We've heard all kinds of different opinions (paticularly on Clausen) over the past twelve hours. Like them or not, both should be gone very early tonight. The question remains: Is it worth it?

Well, you can probably guess that we believe in both of them since we have Clausen ranked as our #1 overall player and McCoy is in our header. You'd be right.

Raiders Trying to Sneak to 3-4?

Are the Raiders secretly making the move to the 3-4? This is all speculation, but I thought today’s acquisition of Quentin Groves was interesting. Let me walk you through my train of thought.

Each year we see nose tackles and 5-technique defensive ends pushed up draft boards around the NFL. The reason is simple: A lot of teams are switching to the 3-4 base and there aren’t usually enough valuable players to fill every team’s needs.

Final Mock Draft

We've posted our Final Mock Draft. It's seven rounds with explanations for every pick. Enjoy the draft!

Final Board is Set!

We are very proud of the success we've had projecting the draft's top players over the past couple of years. Last season we finished 6th in The Huddle Report's Top 100 Board Rankings.

We've just finalized our board this year, so check our 2010 Final Top 100 Board.

Final Positional Rankings

Positional Rankings are now final. Over 1,000 of the 2010 NFL draft's top prospects are ranked.

10 Potential NFL Draft Weekend Trades

10. Denver trades the 45th overall selection to Pittsburgh for the 52nd, 151st and 225th overall

The Steelers have a bunch of picks and have made deals with the Broncos before. They want to move up in the second round to get either Golden Tate or Kareem Jackson if they are both available. Either way look for the Steelers to move up in the second round. The Broncos love draft picks and will acquire them however they can.
